| | wow, when did writing a blog entry on xanga involve all these tools? i feel like a septuagenarian trying to figure out a digital camera. but of course finding all these little widgets and whatsits amusing and excessive. man, 2009. i am now 25 going on 26 very soon. oh xanga, it has been a while. i vaguely remember that day when i decided to start logging my life events on you back in 2001. eight freegin years ago. that is a small child's worth of years. reading my earlier entries are pretty trippy.
what scares me is how much more accomplished i seemed back then. i don't want 19 year old tinna to be the high point of my life. they weren't kidding when they said that you're still finding yourself in your twenties. i am smack in the middle and learning lots of interesting things about myself. and lots of not so interesting stuff. note to self, gotta work on the not so interesting things. i truly want to go back to the days when i was able to use my words eloquently. except now i want to add a cup of clever and a dollop of fiesty into my style of writing. i shall try to hone my skills here and see if i have what it takes. one of my wishes for this year is that 26 year old tinna can outshine 19 year old tinna.
having stated that, today was a great start for 2009. i went to a small gathering, late secret santa if you will, with my GNO girls. i always thought secret santas were curious events. i have not yet seen one successful one; meaning that the secret was actually kept. but who doesn't like to hug it out with your personal secret santa and thank them for thinking of you? :) the gift exchanging was actually pretty forgettable. the greatness was in the friendship that comes together particularly with this group even faced with the vast differences in our backgrounds. we are literally a hodge-podge of race, experience, and status. each person in the group brings a colorful dynamic that can be replace by no other and together creates a masterpiece that always amazes me. i learn new things from these get-togethers all the time and it really makes me sit back and realize how i've grown as a person. i know i'm blessed to have this little niche carved in my life right now. i know these gatherings may or may not continue forever, but i cherish every one that comes to fruition. i'm thinking, 30 year old tinna will look back on this memory of the GNO girls, and give 25 year old tinna a nostaligic smile and nod.
as for you, 2009. i've got my resolutions, i've got my man list, i think i'm ready.
